A martingale is a type of dog collar provides more control, without the choking effect of a slip collar.

The martingale dog collar was designed for

Sight-hounds because their necks are larger than their heads and they can slip out of buckle collars.

Martingale dog collars are fitted to the exact size of the dog’s neck when the collar is pulled closed the two rings should never meet.

There is a slider on the tail of the martingale that allows you to adjust the size of the opening to get it over your dogs head then adjust back so they  Don't slip out of it.
