It has a natural oil in the leather so as not to crack or split if it gets wet and will not go stiff and hard.
It is a nice lead to hold without making your hands sore if you have a strong dog.
It is very strong and hard wearing

1" lead  only available in stitched 
 Brass or Nickel fittings
Available in  2  lengths 14" and 16" 

Stitched or a Bleed Knott  (both are as strong)
